The Great Disconnect

This world we live in is huge as hell,

Plenty for us all to enjoy now and then,

But the system is rigged,

To make that enjoyment a big expense,

Even going to get a soda costing two fifty,

But my loaf of bread for another two fifty

Wish there was a way to stop it all,

Wish I could just unplug it all,

So that’s what I’m gonna do is protest as a socialist

It’s called a disconnect for a reason,

Because my social media will be unused

Might even cancel my subscriptions to all bullshit

Not even watch that cat vid on Facebook,

Or learn to fix it from tube I’ll just wait a month,

Because Americas big disconnect will happen April 1st .

And last the following month

Until they need to control us

Until they need to educate us

Until they stop a war that’s unwanted

Or even stop the overtaxing us.
