HOLLOW HEART

I remember the nights where I run for the light

There’s a feeling of regret, and anxiety blinding my sight

So I close my eyes and forget what’s around

All the arms reaching out missing me

It starts at night when the horizon hides the sun

Drowning out the path I follow

My head is filled with questions

But my heart is hollow

I break my hands on the wall I can’t move pass

Crying out in the tragedy of all the lost

The missing memories from the past

No one knows the struggle the fight we endure

There’s no books no movies just the weight of it

Like gravity on the minds of us

Distressed and trust severed

Only the bad remembered

So yea I cry

My head hangs low, hands heavy like concrete

I can’t walk, I only stumble

I look in the mirror and all I want to do is break it

I can’t stand the sight the smell the history

I pierce my skin trying to hide from the misery

To hide the fact that I can’t ware the same hat

So I detach from myself to hide the black

To bury the truth from the people that care

I know it isn’t fare but it’s whatever

I’ll deal with that later

The dirt turned to mud from my blood

Lying on the ground where it all started

Where others stare, looking with judgment

Treating me as a martyr, but I don’t deserve that

I did nothing worthy of respect

I sit down and dissect my actions

Was it out of passion or just a distraction

From what was actually wrong

That’s the long unanswered question

From this painful lesson
