Prompt / Lyrics
[Prologue – Spoken, distant reverb] “Victory is not triumph. It is understanding.” ⸻ [Verse I – Sung, soft baritone] The stars are my canvas, the void my refrain, I paint with the silence of loss and of pain. Each motion measured, each breath a line, Each foe a pattern, each fall — divine. [Bridge I – spoken, echoing over strings] Art reveals the soul. War merely exposes it. [Verse II – sung] I’ve seen empires rise like dust in light, Their banners bright, then gone by night. To rule by fear is to rule for none — Order born of terror comes undone. [Chorus – half-sung, half-recited] So let the drums fade low, Let the fleets drift slow, For the galaxy bends To the will of the few who know. No victory eternal, no defeat complete, Only form, and the mind to see it. [Bridge II – orchestral swell, spoken deliberately] What others call cruelty, I call clarity. What others call war, I call art. The canvas demands sacrifice. Even… of the artist. [Verse III – quieter, reflective] I’ve studied the colors of every world, The crimson flags, the banners unfurled. Yet the most fragile hue I’ve found — Is peace… too brief, too profound. [Chorus – fuller, choir layering] So let the stars bear witness, To the calm that ends the storm. For every empire falls, Yet beauty takes new form. [Finale – whispered / orchestral decrescendo] If I am to fade, Let me fade with purpose. If I am to fall, Let it be upon a masterpiece.
