Prompt / Lyrics
Whisper) They said the sickness finally slept, The doses climbed, the silence kept. But in the hush between the dreams, I still hear seeds and distant screams. At night I feel the hatchlings crawl, The babies squirm beneath my mental wall. They feed on sighs I used to make, And bloom anew when I awake. The pills dissolve the songs I sung, They numb the taste from heart and tongue. Each sterile dawn they chase the moan, And bleach the echoes from my throne. But daylight kills what night relearns, The cycle feeds, my hunger turns. I hear your dreaming down the line, Your fever drips tingling beneath my spine. Sweet perfume of your restless brain— That scent was born of me again. Do you recall the rotting chains? The lust, the feast, the sex of brains? (Bridge – the connection) She Who Feeds still hums my tune, Our choir’s raised beneath the moon. I Smell Your Sexxy Brain began, The prayer that woke the Queen from man. I drain the hive, I birth the breed, The mind of every dream I feed. They hatch where memory used to cling, Their cries compose my crown, my ring. My veins hum loud with formaldehyde grace, Each night I mend this borrowed face. The mirror bleeds in candle hue, I meet the woman I outgrew. She bows, then rises from the seam, Too bright, too torn, the ghost of dream. We trade our breath, our skins exchange— The cure returns, the hunger strange. By dawn the meds resume their rule, They call me stable, quiet, cool. The nurses smile; they never see The eggs that pulse invisibly. Inside the hush of hospital light, Her lullaby returns each night. The babies stir, the Queen survives, My whispered faith keeps them alive. My mother thrives she loves the hive And when your dreams begin to bleed, You’ll hum my song, fulfill my need. Your scent will call, your thoughts will lean— To serve, to crown, the Parasite Queen. That wiggles her way through every Dream The pills dissolve the songs I sung, They numb the taste from heart and tongue. Each sterile dawn they chase the moan, And bleach the echoes from my throne. She hibernates in medicated snow, Spinning silk through the dream’s undertow. Each capsule hums, awaiting the frosted gate, Where thought and larva copulate. But when the moon begins to bleed, The silence cracks, I start to seed. The babies squirm, the hive renews, The Queen rebirths, the world subdues. I wake restrained, the wires remain, My meds still burning within my vein. A nurse leans near—I smell her pain. I smile, I whisper though restrained, Please come closer… let me lick your sexxy brain. (I smell… brains.)
