Seven Months of Silence

Six months in the silence, seven away from the storm,

Stepping out from shadows, finding where I belong.

Bit by bit I’m healing, breaking free again.

Voices fade into the past, memories in the rain,

Running from the shadows, trying to escape,

Every door I open, fears that won’t abate.

SUVs and memories, echoes of what used to be,

In my heart I carry hope, setting my soul free.
