The knocking at my door

I hear a knocking at my door

I’m not expecting visitors

They keep on knocking

Should I be scared

My heart is pounding through my chest

Why don’t they give it a rest

Could it be someone I’ve forgotten

Is it a special delivery

I hear a knocking at my door

And now they’re pounding

I’m not prepared to answer

So I grab a knife from the drawer

Look out the window now

I Watch the shadow tower

And Hear the footsteps drawing closer

Turn off the light and cower

Listen closely as I try to hide

No more knocking at the door

Did I dream it happened

I don’t think I’ll hide anymore
