Still Standing

They said I’d never make it through the night

But I’ve been walking through storms my whole life

Woke up in a world that don’t feel like mine,

Mirror full of cracks but I still see signs.

Back against the wall, heart cold as steel,

But I never lost grip on the way I feel.

Betrayal in my veins but it made me strong,

Every “you’ll never make it” just proved them wrong.

I don’t pray for peace, I prepare for war,

Pain taught me more than comfort ever wore.

I’m still standing—

Through the fire and the flood,

Through the lies and the blood.

I’m still breathing—

Every scar is proof I fought,

Even when I thought I lost!

You can break me, shake me,

They don’t see the nights I scream in silence,

Built my strength in personal violence.

Every friend turned foe lit a flame in me,

Now I walk through hell and it’s home to me.

Don’t need your hand, I found my way,

Even God felt far but I chose to stay.

Didn’t come this far to fade to black,

I burn every bridge that won’t have my back.

Yeah, I bled on the page, now I weaponize truth,

Every loss that I took lit a permanent fuse.

Tears in my mirror, ghost in my lane,

But I keep my grip when I drive through rain.

They threw dirt, but I grew through that,

Now I bloom with a storm at my back.
