“Then Came Jesus, Emmanuel”- female

Joseph was a carpenter and Mary was a girl

Joseph worked long hours for her

And heart was made of pearl

Hard work, love and tenderness

Where the qualities of their hearts

That’s when God decided he’d found the home

That is only son would be a part of

Then came Jesus, Emmanuel

Peace that passes understanding

Love that knows no end

Then came suffering, shame, and rejection oh

How could it ever be?

For a baby boy, full of love and joy

From the home of eternity

Joseph was a carpenter and Mary was his wife

Joseph worked with Jesus

Wood and Work, where all their lives

Jesus grew to be a man

He knew miracles day by day

And when Mary would look at her son, Jesus

This is what she’d say

Then came Jesus, Emmanuel

Peace that passes understanding

Love that knows no end

Then came suffering, shame, and rejection oh

How could it ever be?

For a baby boy, full of love and joy

From the home of eternity

Jesus came, He lived, He died,

To take away our sins

So on that cross and for the world

Oh let us trust in Him

Then came Jesus, Emmanuel
