Wired Different

My mind runs faster than my feet

Thoughts collide on every street

I start one thing, then something new

Colors change from red to blue

They say “focus, just calm down”

Like it’s easy to turn it down

But my brain’s a storm inside

Nowhere safe enough to hide

I try to fit inside the lines

But I redraw them every time

I’m wired different, can’t you see?

This is how my world feels to me

Too loud, too bright, too fast, too deep

But these are dreams I get to keep

I’m not broken, I’m just free

You call it chaos, I call it me

Late at night my thoughts don’t sleep

Promises I couldn’t keep

Half-finished plans across my floor

Ideas knocking at my door

I laugh too loud, I feel too much

Every sound is one more touch

I care in ways you might not see

It’s overwhelming just to be

They only see what’s on the outside

Not the war I fight inside

I’m wired different, can’t you see?
