Honest question

Can I be honest, just for a while?

Lay my heart out, no disguise, no denial

Maybe I could be your number one, your main, your priority

Not just someone to pass the time, only when you feel lonely

I see through the lies, the masks you often wear

Sad to say, the only mistake I see, is thinking you truly care

You point the finger, blame it all on me

But I know the truth, it’s you who’s never free

Turned around, you deny, you shift the blame

But I could tell, it’s just a game you’re playing

Can’t I just be happy, can you be honest, please?

No more tears, no more pain, just a desire for peace

Hurting me, breaking down, does it even matter?

I need real love, not this broken shattered

Is it a game? Or do you just not care?

I’m tired of pretending, tired of despair

Honest words, a reckless hope that you might change

But all I get are echoes in a world so strange

Maybe one day you’ll see, what you mean to me

Until then I’ll stand here, longing to be free

From the shadows of this doubt and pain

Hoping you’ll be honest, and not play the game again
