To my bonus mom
I love you, thank you for being the mom I could always turn to. When life was tough, I always knew I had you. I look up to you in ways I can’t explain, but yet you always knew how to ease my pain. I had a lot going on in my brain, but you always made sure I was okay. We met when I was 15 and didn’t know how to deal with pain, but you took it away by just existing. You’ve guided me through right and wrong, and you always made me strong. Life is beautiful knowing you can choose family, and you choose to always stay. I know I’ve messed up in the past and I hate that I can’t take it back, but you’ve always believed in me and the person who I was meant to be. I thank you for being you, and being a second mother to me. Whenever I mess up, you ask if I’m okay, instead of shaming me straight away. I thank you for your patience and your time and always knowing I’m more than passing by. I’m so proud of who you’ve become, you’re an amazing mother to all 3 of us. I promise you I’ll always keep my siblings safe, you’ve raised us to be amazing human beings. I know you met me when I was a teenager, but sometimes you felt safer to me than anyone else I would go near. I don’t talk about it much, but growing up I felt like no one let me be me, but then you came into my life and let me feel free. I could go on and on about how much you mean to me but then I’d be talking for eternity. So one more time, just remember I love you and will always look up to you. You’re my bonus mom.
