I keep staring at a life that's out of reach,
Dreaming of a mansion sitting high above the streets.
Watching everybody else make it look so easy,
While I'm counting all the ways that I've fallen beneath me.
I smile when people ask me how I've been,
But there's a war behind the words I never let them in.
I feel like I've been running with my feet tied down,
Trying to find a reason not to drown.
I wish I could be somebody they'd remember,
A light that burns instead of fading into embers.
Instead I feel invisible every single day,
Wondering if I'll ever find my way.
'Cause I'm never satisfied with the life I lead,
Always chasing someone that I'll never be.
I wish I had a house with windows to the sky,
Where my worries couldn't reach me every night.
I wish I could give my girl the world she deserves,
Diamonds, vacations, every dream in her purse.
I just want to breathe without these chains on me,
Taste a little luxury, finally feel free.
But when I look into the mirror, all I see...
Someone who's afraid he'll never open anybody's eyes.
I've got love, but somehow it still feels small,
Like I'm never enough to catch myself before I fall.
Every promise that I make feels incomplete,
When I can't put the whole world at her feet.
Maybe people see potential that I hide,
Maybe fear's the only thing that's really by my side.
I'm exhausted trying to measure up,
Pouring from a cup that never fills enough.
Maybe freedom isn't bought with a bigger view,
Maybe it begins with believing something's true.
But tonight it's hard to hear above the noise,
When every dream feels like somebody else's choice.
So I'll keep walking even when I can't see,
Hoping someday I'll become the man I need to be.
I'm still never satisfied with the life I know,
But maybe every broken road is where I'm meant to grow.
Maybe one day I'll unlock a different kind of wealth,
Not just in my pockets—but believing in myself.
I'll give my girl a reason to be proud she stayed,
Build a life together, even if it's slowly made.
And maybe when somebody hears this melody,
They'll know they're not alone because they sound like me.
If I can make one heart believe tomorrow's worth another try,
Maybe that's enough to finally open someone's eyes.
