Echoes of the Lost

Whispered winds, carry my silent plea

Echoes of dreams now longing to be free

Once I chased stars, thought I’d reach the sky

Now I stand here, with my head bowed low, wondering why

Faded photographs of might-have-been

Teach me to accept what I can’t win

Falling apart, yet I learn to breathe

Lost hopes linger, but I start to believe
