Shadows of Hope

A lonely bar, shadows fall

An eerie figure, silent call

Questions hanging in the air

Mysteries whispered, despair

Sat beside a shadow cloaked in night

Eyes like portals to unseen fights

I saw the soul behind the guise

The whispers of a silent demise

Moved by courage, shadows speak

A lonely moment, future's peek

Who are you, in this midnight air?

A guardian, or silent stare?

Life's a cigarette, burning slow

Choices made, where do they go?

Angel of Death, why did you stay?

In the darkness, guiding my way

I asked the reaper, 'Did you see?

All the pain that haunted me'

He lowered his whiskey, said to me

'Your purpose's written, wait and see'

Guardian angels in the night

Whisper hope, ignite the light

He follows, silent and true

Guiding purpose, shining through

So I walk, with hope in hand

Destined to help, to understand

The reaper's shadow, now a friend

Together, hearts will mend
