Mirror Talk

Girl… look at you standing in this light,

Eyes tired but still shining bright.

Heart bruised but it’s beating strong,

Spirit cracked but it still sings songs.

You made it through another night,

Made it to this mirror in the morning light.

Before the world gets loud again,

Let me remind you where you’ve been.

You’re not what hurt you.

You’re not what left you.

You’re not what tried to break you.

You’re what survived.

You’re what healed.

You’re what God kept alive.

I am chosen, I am loved, I am held —

That’s the Word talking back to me.

I am strong, I am whole, I am well —

Heaven wrote that in my story.

I am light, I am truth, I am free —

Every promise still belongs to me.

Mirror talk, mirror talk, say it loud —

I’m becoming who God always saw in me.

Hey little one hiding in my chest,

Scared of the future, tired of the rest.

Come sit with me in this honest glow,

We’re rising slow, but we still grow.

You don’t have to hide behind my ribs,

Come breathe with me, come live.

Look at us — still standing tall,

Still answering every fall.

You’re not forgotten.

You’re not too late.

You’re not too much.

You’re not a mistake.

You’re becoming.

You’re unfolding.

You’re blooming.

Fear don’t own me —

2 Timothy said so.

Strength gonna rise —

Isaiah already told me.

Good is coming —

Romans 8 promised that.

Purpose is mine —

Ephesians stamped it.

Light is in me —

Matthew declared it.

Peace surrounds me —

Psalm 23 wrapped it.
