He grew up with silence, no one asked how he felt

Told to "man up" anytime his pain was dealt

Watched his father hold in tears, never let 'em fall

So he learned real quick, emotions weren't allowed at all

Loved a woman once, gave her all his trust

She left without a word, like his feelings were dust

But he didn’t break down, just lit another smoke

Kept the pain locked up tight, laughing at his own joke

In the mirror he stared, no tears but his eyes

Told stories of battles, of wounds he hides

Until one night he whispered, “I’m not making it through”

He texted no one, just stared at the phone
