The girl with the horse

I met her under neon lights, in a town just down the road

She lived out in the countryside, where the wildflowers grow

She rode a horse through morning mist, free as the wind that blew

And somehow in that crowded club, I found a girl so true

We built a life from laughter, years just seemed to glide

Sunlit days and holiday nights, she was always by my side

She worked down at the travel shop, I’d meet her after five

And every dream we ever dreamed felt perfectly alive

But time has a way of changing hearts

And life don’t always play fair parts

One moment’s spark, one selfish flame

Burned down the life we built by name

She never saw it coming, and she'll never be the same

I left the girl with the horse, and I carry all the blame

There was someone new at work, with a smile that caught my eye

And what began as harmless words turned into secret lies

One night we crossed that fragile line, and everything went wrong

She told me she was carrying my child , and i knew where i belonged

I heard that she had cried alone, ring still on her hand

All the plans we made, the vows we wrote, turned into shifting sand

I walked away with heavy steps, a future left behind

I chose the road I had to take, but she was always on my mind
