Here I stand (revised 3)

You said you were here, always near, a light to my path with no fear. The road ahead oh so clear, I stumble, fall, you wipe my tears. I ask why, you said trust, as I blindly walk into the dusk.

A shadow appears it takes my hand to the dark here I stand. As I look into its eyes it pulls me under with its lies.

The path i followed for so long, nowhere near so far gone. The dark creeped in, it took my soul on a journey from the road you paved for me so long ago.

Please forgive me I should have knew, the darkness pulled me away from you. As I look up to the sky, your arms wide open, tears fill my eyes. you let me stumble, you let me fall, the path I chose not yours at all.

In your light now I stand, the darkness gone and its plan to pull me under away from you, now all I want is to follow you, thank you lord for your grace here I am I seek your face, here I am I seek your face!
