Walking down this city street
Passing all the people I dont care to meet
Car broke down what a pain
As I walk it begins to rain
Some days better than the other
This one turned into a mother
As my legs start to burn
My thoughts start to turn
I realize it will take all of my will
To get home on top of that hill
Recently I had the world beat
Now a poster child for defeat
The pain and the pressure
The absence of pleasure
A love once divine
Now I'm not sure she's mine
Life took a hard turn
I thought I had nothing to learn
It can be too much to bare
Feeling you have no one to care
Time to stop and think it through
And remember what is true
The suffering others endure
Turns mine to discomfort for sure
Home now on my hill
My stomach i will fill
Fresh water to cleanse and drink
It makes me stop and think
So many die of starvation
Or live in filth with no sanitation
Clean water a rare luxury
They flee violence and poverty
No one with an open door
Charity extended no more
We have it good our problems are light
We need to keep others in sight
Know that it could be much worse
Stop putting your own problems first
Show mercy to those suffering for real
be an agent leading others to heal
It can be too much to bare
Feeling you have no one to care
Time to stop and think it through
And remember what is true
The suffering others endure
Turns mine to discomfort thats for sure
America and project Twenty twenty five
A struggle enough to stay alive
Once we were a country which did thrive
Our national identity in a nose dive
