Always looking forward
Divining what comes next
Now nothing to look toward
The future is a fog and we're all perplexed
Mankind has always planned and dreamed
Sometimes spot on
Sometimes not what they seemed
Always looking forward to what will be
Awe and wonder at the possibilities
But now no vision its all hazy
Lost now in unknown possibilities
A science fiction reality
Robots hyper intelligence cars that can fly
A future predicted seen easily
Now we live in the future and no one's asking why
The futures future is impossible to see
Drones A I automation have all come to stay
Hover boards electronics even robots for play
Our lives shaped influenced and lived digitally
They track and they watch us we've surrendered privacy
We saw all of it coming we knew what to expect
What's to come next is unknown and we cannot course correct
We live in the future its the here and now
To get here we defied logic and forfeited our future somehow
No mystery
Look at history
We went down a road so fast
The present became the past
Inbred with fear and with sorrow
We can't predict our tomorrow
Life led by machines
A life of comfort and ease
Settled into routines
Apathy now a disease
We realign and redefine
Claimed to end slavery
A design to keep us in line
The slaves were never set free
We don't heed the great need their cries we don't heed we have the right seed the ability to feed instead fear we breed we lust power but don't lead no regard if they bleed as long as we succeed Ignoring the good deed deaf to the plead warning signs we don't read self intrest grows like a weed a world enslaved by greed
We know the solution
Can save the world
But we add to polution
All our flags unfurled
We got here through our weak self intrest
Seeing it takes no genius or scholar
In God, dignity and respect we no longer invest
We've fallen to idolatry towards the almighty dollar
Life led by machines
A life of comfort and ease
Settled into routines
Apathy now a disease
We realign and redefine
Claimed to end slavery
A design to keep us in line
The slaves were never set free
