War Within

Lost in my mind, can't find my way

Shadows of doubt, they refuse to stay

I have all I wanted, yet I feel so cold

Mirror reflects a story untold

Chasing something I can't define

In this war within, I lose every time

Why does happiness feel so far?

Why do my dreams feel like scars?

It's a battle I fight alone

In my head, I'm never home

Broken and alone, but everyone sees the glow

Hiding my sorrow beneath what I show

Why do I chase love that I can't hold?

Trapped in my mind, so tired, so old

Can I silence the noise inside?

Find a reason, find some pride?

Maybe someday I will see

The person I was meant to be

Till then I’ll keep these fears at bay
