Shadows to Sunrise

From shadows deep, I rise above the pain

Living in the echoes of a broken, battered past

Trying to find the light, I won't go back again

Started in a cradle of chaos and despair

Two sisters, a broken home, nobody really cared

Dad was lost in his addiction's grip

Momma enabler, letting the darkness slip

Locked in a closet, dreams were shut away

Bullet holes in the wall, scared I’d fade

Living in the dark, fighting just to survive

Each day a struggle just to stay alive

From the slums and shadows, I had to break free

Fighting every demon that tries to conquer me

Every scar, every tear, told a story untold

Rising from the ashes, stronger and bold

This is the fight, the rise, the fall

From a broken childhood, I stood tall

Hustling streets, chasing dreams in the night

Turning wrong into right, I’ll ignite my light

Years went by, I faced my fears

Moments of hope through all the tears

Fatherhood’s a blessing, a brand new start

Carrying the lessons, healing my heart

Though the past lingers, I choose to move on

Building a future from the broken dawn
