Paragon of Virtue

I used to be a paragon of virtue

Now you’ll wish I’d never hurt you

I was a symbol of beauty and grace

With my somber blue eyes and a perfect face

Candles flickered in the nave

Every soul I tried to save

Every prayer that left my lips

Turned to ash from broken scripts

I walked the path the righteous tread

Halo shining overhead

But even saints can hear the call

When shadows start to rise and crawl

Don’t let my horns scare you away

For your safety I will pray

I am the calm inside the storm

The fire that keeps you warm

Still a paragon of virtue

I’ll destroy the ones who hurt you

This is my sacred task

That is all I ask

I was a saint stung by betrayal

Arcana prime heard my wail

An abomination

A sensation

Cast out from the light

But never did I leave the fight

Through the darkness cold and grim

Still I rise a seraphim

Broken halos on the floor

Do not bind me anymore

Heaven’s gates may bar my name

Still I walk through holy flame

In my soul I’m born to protect

A seraphim the damned reject

Through the shadows I remain

Guarding those who cry in pain

Heaven trembles at my cry

As the fallen start to rise

Grace and fury intertwined

Judgment written in my mind

Through the thunder of the choir

Through the echoes of the pyre

Every step I take is sworn

To guard the weak and shield the torn

Halo shattered, still I stand

Justice burning in my hand

From the ruins of my fall

I will answer every call

Even angels cast aside

Still have fire deep inside

Through the storm and through the flame

All will whisper now my name
