“Heaven Sent Us You”

There’s an empty chair that still feels the same,

Three kids still smile when they hear Daddy’s name.

A mom holds together what’s left of her heart,

Trying to be strong when she’s falling apart.

He never wanted to leave them behind,

But Heaven called him before it was time.

And though he’s gone where their eyes cannot see,

His love still lives in his family.

Then when the road felt lonely and long,

When Momma was tired of trying to be strong,

Another man came without taking his place,

Just offering love, patience, and grace.

You never tried to replace their dad,

You just loved them through the good and the bad.

You opened your heart, and your family did too,

And somehow our broken hearts trusted you.

You showed those three kids they still had a man

Who would stand beside them and take their hand.

Maybe Heaven knew we would need someone like you.

Birthdays and memories year after year.

You let them remember, you let them grieve,

And gave them another reason to believe.

Your family opened their arms up wide,

Made room for all four of us by their side.

Not because blood said that's what you do,

But because love made a family out of me and you.
