Silent nights, heavy hearts, shadows of the past

Echoes of a love that didn't last, still, I feel the blast

Broken windows, silent screams, hiding in my mind

Memories that cut so deep, trying to be kind

Neglect and pain, scars unseen, still I hold on tight

Love and hurt conflicting, fighting in the night

How can I love what tears me apart?

Fighting back the ache, wearing love like a scar

I’ll never forget the hurt, the neglect, the pain

But still, I love you all, in spite of the rain

Hearts battered, but somehow still brave

In my soul, your shadow, I can’t unsee or forget

Abandoned pieces of myself, trying to survive

Loving hands that let me fall, trying to stay alive

Abuse and abandonment, a cruel double-blow

A love so complex, hard to let go

How can I love what tears me apart?
