Walking Towards Peace

Walking away, a heavy choice,

Echoes in my silent voice.

Footsteps fade into the night,

Seeking peace beyond the fight.

I knew the man you used to be,

Fading shadows, can't you see?

Love is love, but it’s not enough,

When betrayal makes the waters rough.

Still, my heart whispers softly,

Love for you won’t fade completely.

But I had to set us free,

Find the strength inside of me.

I walked away to find my peace,

From broken vows and silent screams.

Love was real, but so was pain,

Now I choose to heal again.

Not all love is meant to stay,

Sometimes love must fly away.

To save the soul, to find the light,

To step into a better life.

I still love you, that’s true,

But loving myself comes first now too.
