Brighter Days Ahead

Awake in the shadows, fighting through the night,

Every scar and whisper echoes in the light.

Standing tall after the storm, I find my strength,

This is my story, my fight, my length.

February's cold breath marked the start of my new day,

A stranger saw the pain behind the words I couldn't say.

Dark nights haunted my mind, but I chose to stay,

Turning fear into fire, forging my own way.

Flashbacks try to pull me under, but I rise,

PTSD trying to define me, but I see through the lies.

Night terrors scream in the silence, but I'm a warrior,

With every breath, I claim my power, make myself stronger.

Brighter days are ahead, I’m learning to believe,

Hope is the anchor in the storm, teaching me to grieve.

Support keeps me afloat, friends are my light,

Breaking through the darkness, reclaiming my life.

Every step I take, away from fear, toward the peace,

Healing’s a journey, and I will never cease.

Turn pain into power, scars into stars,

I'm shining brighter, healing all my wounds and scars.

Now I stand taller, free from what was yesteryear,

A survivor, a fighter, I hold my hope near.

With love found in me and around, I’m finally free,

A new dawn breaks, this is my victory.
