One more day

I miss my mom it’s been nearly 5 long years without her

I wish she could be here with me and to meet her grandchildren just once

I miss the late night songs and delicious meals made and the warm embrace

oh how I wish I could have just one more day with her

the halls always filled with laughter she was the song in my heart that kept me going but right now I don’t know what to do next

Whenever I cried she told me to dry my tears there was nothing to fear

but that’s what she did best my mom

I wish we dreamed a little harder in those moments that are now memories

all the kicking and screaming and crying how did my mom endure my siblings and I only the lord and her knows

oh how I wish I could have just one more day with her
