Shadows of Yesterday

Shadows fall where light once dwelled,

Echoes of a time I knew too well.

Walking through this empty space,

Faces fade without a trace.

The person I was, slipping away,

Now I’m lost in yesterday.

Invisible lines, broken and torn,

Waiting for a dawn that’s never born.

I'm not who I used to be,

Now you’re not here, and I can’t see.

Changing with the tide of memory,

Scars of who I used to be.

Turning pages in my mind,

Searching for what I can't find.

Fading echoes, silent plea,

Who I am now, just a shadow of me.

Maybe someday, I’ll be free,

From who I was, from what I see.

Until then, I’ll just be,

A stranger to my history.
