(STANZA I)
(Intro Battle Screaming )
In Capua, men were bought to fight and die,
Forced into the arena while Rome watched in delight.
Spartacus, a Thracian, refused to comply,
He chose to break their order and stand against their might.
Seventy gladiators rose and made their way,
They broke from the school and vanished from Rome’s sight.
They fled into the hills and refused to obey,
And turned their stolen freedom into a growing fight.
(CHORUS)
SPARTACUS — SON OF ROME!
We stand as one, we will not bow!
SPARTACUS — SON OF ROME!
Break every chain that binds us now!
From blood and dust, we charge ahead,
A thousand voices shake the dead!
SPARTACUS — SON OF ROME!
We march for freedom — we are not alone!
(GUITAR SOLO I)
(STANZA II)
Rome sent its soldiers to crush the runaway band,
But Spartacus turned the mountain into their grave.
The Romans fell before the rebel stand,
And thousands left their masters, refusing to be slaves.
What started with seventy became an army strong,
The rebellion spread like thunder through the land.
Rome could no longer silence such a throng,
For every fallen soldier strengthened Spartacus’ command.
(GUITAR SOLO II)
(STANZA III)
Legions came with banners, shields and steel,
Spartacus broke their ranks again and again.
The road toward the Alps was open for the free,
Freedom waited far beyond the reach of Rome’s domain.
But then the army turned and chose another way,
Some wanted vengeance, some desired a new life.
Spartacus still fought for freedom every day,
He wanted liberation for them all, not endless strife.
(GUITAR SOLO III)
(STANZA IV — LATIN)
Libertatem quaerimus, non gloriam,
Nemo nascitur servus, hoc verum sit.
Si cadimus, cadimus pugnantes in viam,
Sed libertas nostra semper vivat et sit.
In 71 BC, Crassus closed the trap,
Spartacus fought at the front until he disappeared.
Rome claimed victory and sealed the final gap,
But what he had awakened could never be cleared.
(FINAL CHORUS)
SPARTACUS — SON OF ROME!
We stand as one, we will not bow!
SPARTACUS — SON OF ROME!
Break every chain that binds us now!
[DUET]
From blood and dust, we charge ahead!
[CHILDREN'S CHOIR]
We will remember!
[FULL CHOIR]
SPARTACUS — SON OF ROME!
We march for freedom — WE ARE NOT ALONE!
SPARTACUS! — SON OF ROME!
