I took a walk the other day to clear my head again
Something inside of me just stops to lead me to the end
Of a narrow road
Standing right there was a gray haired man
Said come here son let me tell you who I am
I’m the narrow road
He said, Few will walk this way, but it leads to life,
It’s the path of truth, it’s the way of Christ.
You may stumble, son, but don’t let go,
Grace will carry you on the narrow road.
And I felt the fire burning in my soul,
A gentle voice that whispered, Child, come home.
The narrow road, it calls my name,
Through the cross, through the blood, through the Savior’s flame.
It don’t promise ease, but it makes me whole,
Eternal life’s on the narrow road.
When the wide world tempts and tries to pull me down,
I’ll keep my eyes on Jesus, heaven’s crown.
Though the journey’s long, I am not alone,
For He walks with me on the narrow road.
I’ll keep walking, Lord, ‘til I see Your throne,
Forever home on the narrow road.
