Questions in the Night

Hold on, Lord, I’m questioning, I need some clarity tonight

Walking through this shadowed doubt, searching for the truth’s light

Raised on faith, on Sunday prayers, believing in your grace

But now I stand in wonder, lost within this darker place

John with his vapes, a moment blurred, memories collide

Questions deep within my soul, questions I can't hide

Did you send your son to suffer, for everyone’s salvation?

Or is there shadowed evil hiding behind the congregation?

Oh Lord, why did you send them into my life?

To bring the pain, the tears, the strife?

Forgiveness, love, a grace so pure

But now I wonder, what’s for sure?

They take what’s mine and poison hearts, with lies they try to deceive

Stealing faith and stealing truth, what do I believe?

Am I just a pawn in this game of darkness and of light?

Seeking your forgiveness, praying for what’s right

Are they servants of the darkness, just pawns or something more?

Or souls lost in the shadow, seeking your open door?

Oh Lord, why did you send them into my life?

Help me see your mercy in everything I do
