[Intro] Yeah... Forty days in the wilderness. King versus counterfeit king. Light versus darkness. Truth versus lies.
This ain't a fair fight.
[Verse 1] When the time had come, He stepped in the river, Baptized with sinners though His soul was never bitter. Came up from the water, heaven split apart, Spirit came descending, fire resting on His heart.
Father from the heavens, let the whole world know, "This is My beloved Son," hear the thunder roll. No spotlight chasing, no crown on display, Just obedience and purpose as He walked away.
Led by the Spirit to the desert land, No army by His side, no weapon in His hand. Forty days fasting, body running thin, But the war was never outward, it was always within.
Then the serpent showed up, smelling blood in the sand, Thinking weakness meant surrender, thinking hunger meant demand. "Turn these stones into bread, if You're really who You claim." Satan throwing cheap shots, trying to question His name.
[Pre-Chorus] Stand down. Step back. I ain't falling for your attack. Not like Adam in the garden when deception took the lead. Every lie you try to plant is just another dead seed.
[Chorus] Face off. Eye to eye with the father of lies. No fear. No doubt. No compromise.
Truth in His mouth and fire in His veins, Every word of God breaking spiritual chains. Darkness came swinging but it couldn't land. Jesus stood firm like a rock in the sand.
Face off. Hell shook when He opened His mouth. Face off. Every demon knew what this was about. The devil came hunting but he couldn't make Him fall. King Jesus stood tall and conquered it all.
[Verse 2] "It is written..." Those words hit harder than a fist. Man don't live on bread alone, That's the power that you missed.
Hungry in the flesh but spiritually hard, Standing like a warrior under heaven's guard. The devil backed away but he wasn't done yet, Still plotting another angle, another trap to set.
Took Him to the pinnacle high above the land, "Throw Yourself down if You're God's right hand. Angels gonna catch You, prove Your power today." Trying to twist God's Word and manipulate the way.
But Jesus saw through it, every counterfeit line, Every verse taken out of context every single time. "Do not test the Lord." Simple. Direct. Truth hit the devil like a boot to the neck.
[Pre-Chorus 2] Back up. Stand down. You don't get to wear the crown. Every scheme you manufacture, Every trap you design, Gets shattered by the power of the Author Divine.
