It’s the echo that lingers in the words of her lips

Don’t ever fall for the one with the poet’s pen

His heart’s just a verse as he writes in his locked room

Yeah, this one right here? It’s a different tune

Mirror, mirror, on the wall

Can you tell me how this one gonna fall?

Love in a mirror, it bends what you see

Some folks just run, no love story ever came easy

They grab their coat and stomp the ground

Saying, “I won’t be love’s fool — not here, not now.

But sometimes the storm in her voice ain’t spite

Look out in the cold — she’s gone for the night

She’s searching for that fool who will hold her tonight.

So boy, take this weight — watch as I flip this script

And the tide — you can feel it rolling in

While the truth, it don’t care where you’ve gone or where you’ve been

Passing the alley, the lights, the bars, the band—

Where’d she vanish? Where’s does our story tail end?

Now you see what she stirred when her body swayed

How the balance broke, and the silence prayed

Ain’t in the rules you thought you knew

It’s in that empty house I still can’t believe I gave to you.

Her mystery’s carved out of dark secrecy

You wanted song— so I sang it to you in poetry

Now she’s just another name on a long-given list
