Burning Shadows

Silent waves crash on a shadowed shore,

Memories lost in the ocean's roar.

When the world goes still and quiet,

My mind dives into a stormy riot.

A face I’ve nearly unforgotten,

Fades into a fog unbegotten.

Blurry visions, trails they fade,

Lost in the storm I once did raid.

A forgotten place, a distant fate,

Drowning in my mind’s dark lake.

This island of shadows, tears and fire,

Burns in my mind, a dark empire.

Lava flows, the shadows dance,

Caught within this burning trance.

A utopia now turned to ash,

A molten sky with a smoky splash.

Storms and rain, they come and go,

Tropical dreams turned to woe.

Crashing waves, a paradise lost,

Counting the toll by the cost.

Silent waves at the fading tide,

A blurry past I cannot hide.

Shadows flicker, flames ignite,

Dancing in the dying light.
