Waiting in Heaven

Whispers in the dark, shadows on the wall

A question lingers, echoes through it all

Is it fear that keeps the heavens high

Or a love so vast, it can’t be denied?

Did he step back, hide his face in shame?

Or watch us muddle through, consumed by our own flame?

Would I stay in the light, if I feared what's within?

Or run from the storm, drowned in my own sin?

Maybe god stays in heaven, 'cause he’s scared of what he's shown

Or maybe he's just waiting, for a time to come back home

In the silence, in the space between the stars and our tears

He’s watching, hoping, holding back all his fears

Created chaos, beauty intertwined

Boundaries invisible, questions undefined

Is he hiding out, or standing guard?

A silent witness, watching us go so far

Would I run from the light, if I feared the dark?

Or face the mirror, and leave my mark?

Maybe god stays in heaven, 'cause he’s scared of what he's shown

Or maybe he's just waiting, for a time to come back home

He’s watching, hoping, holding back all his fears

What if the divine's afraid of love?

What if salvation's just a fragile glove?

Could it be that heaven’s just a pause?

Waiting for us to break the laws?

So we ponder from below, what he might see

In his silence, he’s longing to believe

And perhaps the answer’s in the air we breathe

God’s just waiting, afraid to leave
