The Ascension

Veil of darkness, once my only friend

Promised solace, but I couldn’t comprehend

Lured by comfort, blind to what I lost

Now I’m paying the price, paying the cost

Fading light beneath my skin

Falling deeper now within

Truths I buried, sins I hide

Yearning for the chance to mend what I've denied

I gave myself to the night, to the shadow’s cold embrace

Clinging to illusions, I was lost without a trace

Hearts turn to ash, in the fire I can't escape

Seeking redemption, from the darkness I did create

Regrets like scars, etched into my soul

Darkness whispered softly, taking control

Shattered every demon, now the lies are dead and gone

Scars start to burn, but they forged what I’ve become

I found redemption — through the fire, I. AM. REBORN!
