[Classic Southern Dark Outlaw Country]
...
[INTRO – whispered, deep gravelly voice]
Do you hear that…?
Out there…
No thunder.
No train.
That's my truck.
Diesel fires. Turbo whistles. Twelve cylinders growl.
[VERSE 1]
Midnight weighs heavy on the Southern Highway,
Fog rolls like ghosts across the blacktop.
Two red eyes cut through the darkness,
Twelve iron cylinders come hunting for the night.
Black smoke hanging over the pines,
Moonlight burning cold across the chrome.
Georgia dust still clings to my door,
And there ain't no damn home waiting for me.
I drive alone.
I drive too fast.
And somewhere behind my taillights…
something's riding with me.
[PRE-CHORUS]
No cross above my dashboard,
No angel watching over me.
Just an old Bible on the seat
And a shadow riding silently.
[CHORUS – HUGE, RAW, GRAVELLY]
HELL TRUCK!
LET THAT DIESEL SHAKE THE GROUND!
HELL TRUCK!
WHEN I ROLL, THERE AIN'T NO TURNING 'ROUND!
Black smoke rising, red lights burning,
Steel and fire tearing through the night.
When the Hell Truck comes rolling down that road,
Even the Devil steps aside.
HELL TRUCK!
No fear. No brakes. No mercy tonight.
HELL TRUCK!
I RIDE THAT BLACKTOP STRAIGHT INTO THE FIRELIGHT!
[VERSE 2]
Old gas station somewhere past Nowhere,
One dead neon buzzing in the rain.
The old man sees my license plate,
Turns white and slowly says my name.
He asks,
"Where you headed, stranger?"
I tell him,
"Where the road runs out."
He looks at my truck.
Then into the trees.
"Son… that ain't where the road runs out."
[BRIDGE – bass, kick drum, guitar feedback]
Footsteps behind my sleeper…
But nobody's there.
Three knocks.
Silence.
Three more knocks.
I turn around—
Nothing.
Then the radio screams alive.
Static.
And through the noise…
I hear my own voice:
"Keep driving."
[BREAKDOWN – whispered]
Engine running.
Road empty.
Moon gone.
Then something steps into my headlights…
right in the middle of the road.
Silence.
GAS IT!
[FINAL CHORUS – MAXIMUM POWER, ALMOST SCREAMED]
HELL TRUCK!
LET THAT DIESEL SHAKE THE GROUND!
HELL TRUCK!
TWELVE CYLINDERS, HELLBOUND!
Black smoke climbing toward the heavens,
Tires screaming on the asphalt below.
The gates of Hell are wide before me—
AND I'M DRIVING IN LIKE I'M COMING HOME!
HELL TRUCK!
DIESEL!
FIRE!
STEEL!
HELL TRUCK!
If you hear me coming—
PRAY.
If you see those headlights—
RUN.
'Cause when the Hell Truck's behind you…
IT'S ALREADY TOO LATE.
[OUTRO – deep engine idle]
Clack…
Clack…
Clack…
Engine dies.
Silence.
Then, right beside the microphone:
"See you on the other side."
Diesel fires back up.
ROARING GUITAR FADE-OUT.
