Shadows and Struggles

Yeah, this one's for the struggles, for the pain, for the tears,

For the battles fought, the ones I've lost, and all my fears.

Walking through the shadows, trying to find my way,

It's a weathered road, but I gotta stay.

Started out young, just a boy with a dream,

Fighting through the chaos, life ain't what it seems.

Hat on my head, wearing my scars like armor,

Four decades deep, still searching for karma.

Ran through the storm, been locked behind cold bars,

Seventeen years, now I’m counting the scars.

Watching brothers get money, wishing I could be free,

Everyone around me got what I wanna see.

Ain’t no game, this life is real,

Every wound, every scar, tell how I feel.

Looking for change, but the past is heavy,

Holding me down, I need to get ready.

Dumb like the young, running with guns, feeling the pain,

Life hit hard, but I refuse to do it again.

Wishing for the better, praying for peace,

Trying to rise up, find my release.

My only true love, she keeps me sane,
