[verse 1]Skin colors. Our brothers. Our fathers and mothers. We stay divided by history and family. I’m not denying most of our ancestors life circumstances were a crime. It was out of our hands. We all lived by the rules. Still. The rules you and me were divided and no one’s free.

[chorus] We can’t speak freely. We might get shunned or gunned down in the streets, if we do. We’re so divided by the shit our ancestors did. And now all that’s left is just you and me. How are we going to all live together with our pasts in this society.
