The year of 1691 a boy named Alric.
Alric grew up in a small village on the edge of the woods, raised by a quiet mother who never spoke of his father when alric asked of his father she would reply You were given, not made. Unlike other children, he was fast, resilient, and unnaturally strong, able to absorb movement and improve every technique he saw. The blacksmith Garron trained him in iron and fire, teaching him discipline and swordcraft. At sixteen, Alric joined the king’s army as they came to his village looking for recruits. Alric soon stood out very quickly among hundreds of new soldiers. His sparring matches ended quickly even when he was paired against seasoned soldiers. Alric mastered the longsword...axe n ...bow with unsettling speed. Not long after being promoted to kings guard strange reports of monsters spread across the borders, Alric remembered his mother giving him a bronze pendant while warning him not to fear the truth. In the capital, he quickly distinguished himself, mastering fighting skills unmatched and to everyones surprise he won against the undefeated Sir Edric Halvane the kings champion and captain of the kings guards in a winter tournament before King Aldemar himself da king then claimed him as his champion. His first great trial came when he led soldiers against a cyclops that had destroyed a caravan, they found it in a near by ravine feasting on what remains of the caravans guards the cyclops roared Which sounded like thunder da cyclops crushed men beneath its blows n scattered formations n our arrows pierced it flesh which seem to make it more angry. Alric charged. Later da surviving soldiers would argue over what they saw some said that alric moved faster than thoughts n some said his blade struck with no force a human could master but they all agreed that he killed it by climbing its body and driving a sword into its eye. Over the following years, he fought legends made real—minotaurs, centaurs, orcs, trolls, and witches —while watching comrades die Alric was carrying the weight of every battle. After the Battle of Greymarch, Alric was mortally wounded by a wendivagle something between a man n beast with elongated limbs n a endless hunger for flesh while unconscious a mysterious being in a threshold between worlds, who revealed itself as his father and told him he was born immortal. When he awoke, his wound was already healing, and he understood that his survival and strength were part of a greater design. He continued fighting as a weapon against impossible enemies, including a dragon in the northern peaks, and in the final war he stood alone at the breach as giants, orcs, trolls, griffins, and other horrors attacked Valenne.da battle ended with the enemy destroyed and Alric still standing, covered in blood though no single account of how he won ever remained the same. In the peace that followed, he trained soldiers, watched da walls, and held his bronze pendant while wondering what he might choose to become.
