I still hear your paws on the front porch wood

Tail thumpin’ proud like only you could

Everywhere I go, I still look back

Expectin’ to see you trottin’ down the track

Mornings ain’t the same without your bark

The house feels cold, and the nights get dark

You were more than fur, more than just a pet

You were the best damn friend I ever met

Bootprints and pawprints side by side

Through muddy fields and starry nights

But you were always right there with me

Now I walk these roads alone again

Missin’ my dog, my truest friend

Never judged me, no matter the cost
