Resilience

I know I'm not the most brilliant 
And I've never had luck on my side 
But what I am is resilient 
That's where my superpower hides 


And not only did I survive 
I kept the heart where love could thrive


Where so many others did break 
I bent, but came back stronger 
Somehow I knew what was at stake
I would be the victim no longer 
My life's been filled with so much pain 
Fought battles others have lost 
The demons I fought drove some insane 
Many would pay the cost 



And not only did I survive 
I kept a heart where  love could thrive
But I held on to hope and Grace 
Planted seeds of good in hates place
 


I didn't give up when the defeat was near 
I might have been scared but always brave 
And I didn't give in to the  fear 
Never kayode by the blows life gave 
You see there's so much power I hold 
I have fought demons and monsters as well 
And no matter how my stories are told 
There will be many more to tell.
