Looking at the stars and counting down the ways

Some say a giant asteroid is overdue to fall

One bad day from outer space could finish us all

Some say volcanoes will darken up the sky

Turn the daylight into twilight, make the oceans cry

Some say methane from the cattle's gonna seal our fate

Funny how the end of everything is always up for debate

Everybody's got a theory, got a headline to defend

A brand-new prediction of how it all might end

Flying through the rumor mill again

Aliens descending from the stars above

Zombies in the streets where we once fell in love

Every generation paints a different scene

Of the final page in some disaster magazine

But while they're drawing pictures of tomorrow's bitter bend

I'm busy living life instead of colorful ways the world could end

Some say secret labs are cooking up a super plague

Others swear the governments are turning every page

The internet keeps spinning stories faster every day

Fear can be a profitable thing when it's packaged the right way

Preppers build their bunkers, stacking supplies high

Waiting for the moment when the world goes bye-bye

But years keep rolling forward and the sunsets still arrive

And all that time preparing can steal the joy of being alive

Everybody's got a warning, got a countdown to defend

A fresh catastrophe around every bend
