Promises

From dust was man by God designed,
With life and thought and heart combined.
His breath became man’s soul complete,
In Eden’s calm beneath God’s feet.

Yet sin arose through prideful choice,
And silence soon replaced man’s voice.
The ground received what once was made,
As sorrow’s seed through man was laid.

Jehovah’s word will stand secure,
His promise shines, both kind and sure.
Our loved ones sleep, but not in vain—
Jehovah’s hand will raise again.

But still God’s word remains secure,
His love and mercy ever sure.
No power of death can steal His plan,
To bring new life to righteous man.
