Cart Full of Courage

In the aisles of the store, where shadows collide,

I’m fighting the gremlins, I won't run, I won't hide.

With my case manager close, I can take a stand,

But the whispers are loud, got demons in hand.

First time shopping, it was hard to begin,

Got a cart full of hopes, but I'm diving within.

Panic's creeping in, like a thief in the night,

Heavy weight on my chest, but I won’t lose this fight.

Felt the walls close in, a familiar dark place,

But I stood strong, found a reassuring face.

Every item I grabbed, I took one tiny step,

Ninety percent full, I breathe, and I prep.

I’m a survivor, hear me roar,

With each push of the cart, I’m opening doors.

Through the ups and the downs, I'll find my way through,

With love in my pocket, there’s nothing I can’t do.

In an empty store, the music plays loud,

With my wallet held tight, I stand tall and proud.

Picture of my love, it lights up my soul,

Every checkout line crossed, I inch toward my goal.

There’s a journey ahead with bumps on the road,

But I’m taking each step, lightening the load.

Some days will be dark, and others will shine,

In this story of healing, I'm learning to climb.

Grateful for help, the strength that I’ve gained,

Through the storms I’ve weathered, I won't be constrained.

With each beat of my heart, I push through the pain,

In this fight for my life, there’s so much to gain.

I’m a survivor, hear me roar,

With each push of the cart, I’m opening doors.
