You a young woman with four babies, and life been throwing punches at you since day one. One of your baby’s fathers almost took you out this world, tried to break you, tried to leave your kids without a mama. But you’re still here. That alone make you a warrior.
Your little one came into this world barely a pound, fighting with a blood clot on her brain, taken early just to survive. Most people would’ve folded under that kind of pressure, but you didn’t. You was at that hospital, heart in pieces, still holding it together for your kids. Seven months later, you brought that baby home, and that was proof right there that God, the universe, whatever you believe in, wasn’t done with you or your family.
You been through hell and back: pain, fear, nights crying when nobody saw you, days where you didn’t know how you was gonna make it, but you still got up, fed your kids, loved on them, and kept pushing. That’s real strength. Not the loud kind, but the quiet, everyday kind that keeps a family alive.
Now, you can finally see the sun peeking through the clouds. The days not as dark as they used to be. Your babies smiling more, you laughing a little easier, and you starting to feel that maybe, just maybe, better days are really here. You ain’t perfect, but you’re a damn good mother, doing everything you can to keep your four kids safe, fed, and loved.
This letter is just to say: don’t forget who you are. You’re not just a girl who went through some things—you’re a survivor, a protector, a provider, and a light for your children. The streets might know your story, but your kids gon’ know your heart. Keep your head up, keep moving forward, and remember: after all that rain, you earned every bit of this sunshine.
