Red sea rising

Moses stood with his staff held high,

Facing the sea, with no place to hide.

Behind him, Pharaoh’s army drew near,

Swords in the air, filling hearts with fear.

But a mighty wind began to blow,

The waters trembled, then rose up slow.

A path appeared, dry and wide,

As Moses called, “Walk side by side!”

With walls like towers on either shore.

Lightning flashed, the thunder cried,

Moses walked with his eyes ahead,

Leading the way where the promise led.

Freedom called from the distant land,

Waves came crashing, the enemy drowned,

Not one soldier left to be found.

The morning rose, the path was clear,

Moses cried, “Our God is near!”
