I wish to live ...in the thick of it
I bathe... in spider webs.
moss grows upon my skin
and Vines... spiral up my legs.
I close my eyes
to become one with the Earth.
it connects to my toes
up through the dirt.
And I found happiness sitting
beside the stream.

and I say goodbye
to all the metal machines.
no matter how heavy they are
they feel like feathers to me.

clattery teeth.
I take two Tonka trucks
and smash them together into Smithereens!

But Someday this rural life
will be a beautiful memory.
I know that I'll have to come back
to civilization eventually.
even though I said I'd never leave.
and I'll miss those days
walking underneath the Pines.
having a fire outside
always leads to the best of times.
there's laughter in the breeze.
Wether we're sitting by the pond
or checking on the garden.
I love to be home
where I could do some farming.
I like to live close to my bees.
it feels so good here even when it's cold we're at least I could always just
split some wood for the stove.

one day this country life
will be a dot in the rear view mirror.
so I take out my pocket knife
and carve that I was here.

Around midnight
I come out of the woods
covered in tick bites.
lately I live like
a man stuck in a Sasquatch suit
zipped tight.
keep the fire lit
deep in the forest with a pile of sticks .
I can survive just as long
as the neighbors don't admire it
and figure out that I exist .

or the Wailing Irish Spirit Sirens.

at 7:00 in the morning
the alarm goes off.
that's the way it's been on the farm
ever since the rooster got lost.

supposedly reducing trouble.
soon we won't even have to
go out in public .
