[Scene 1 — The Room]
The room’s so still it feels staged,
Like the walls been watchin’ me for days.
Bottle on the table like a prop in a play,
But the script in my chest ain’t written to save.
Light from the street cuts a line through the dust,
Like the world’s outside but it don’t trust us.
I take one pull, feel the burn wake up,
And the shadows lean in like they know what’s up.
[Verse 1]
I hear that whisper rise from the floorboards low,
That old temptation with a voice I know.
It says, “you remember the rush, you remember the glow,”
But it never shows the nights I almost didn’t get home.
Camera pans in on my hands — they shake,
Not from the drink, but the memories it wakes.
Every swallow’s like a key to a lock I break,
And behind that door is a life I can’t take.
[Hook — Wide Shot]
I’m drinkin’ in the dark where the ghosts get bold,
Where the past walks in like it’s got control.
I ain’t fallin’ for the pull, I ain’t sellin’ my soul,
I’m just tryin’ to breathe through the weight of the cold.

[Scene 2 — The Temptation]
The room tilts slow like a camera crane,
And the whisper turns into a voice with a name.
It says, “you remember the fire runnin’ through your veins,”
But it don’t show the aftermath, the wreck, the pain.
It steps out the corner like a shadow with form,
Like a storm I outran but it still wants more.
Says, “one little slip, you’ll feel like before,”
But I know that lie, I’ve buried that war.
[Verse 2]
I see flashes — not memories, but scenes,
Me on the floor, breath thin, barely seen.
Me in a mirror lookin’ hollow and mean,
Me crawlin’ out of a life that wasn’t clean.
The bottle trembles like it knows the stakes,
Like it’s scared of the monster the dark awakes.
But I stare that shadow down till it breaks,
’Cause I ain’t goin’ back to the place that takes.
[Hook — Closer, Tighter]
I’m drinkin’ in the dark where the ghosts get bold,
Where the past walks in like it’s got control.
I ain’t fallin’ for the pull, I ain’t sellin’ my soul,
I’m just tryin’ to breathe through the weight of the cold.
The room leans in when the bottle gets low,
Like it’s waitin’ on a crack in the armor to show.
I feel that old pull rise from the floor below,
Tryin’ to drag me back down to a place I won’t go.
Heartbeat thumpin’ like a drum in a cave,
Echoes of a life I already outran and saved.
Temptation creepin’ in with a hand I won’t take,
Whisperin’ promises it never plans to make.
I stand in the dark with the weight on my chest,
Breathin’ through the storm like a man under test.
Yeah the night gets loud, but I rise in the mess,
’Cause I ain’t goin’ back to the life I left.
But the dark don’t quit, it circles like it knows my name,
Waitin’ for the moment when my guard feels strained.
I feel that old pull rise like a spark in a cage,
Tryin’ to light up a fire I already outran in rage.
So I plant my feet firm in the middle of the storm,
Breath slow, chest tight, but my spirit stays warm.
Yeah the night gets loud, yea the shadows perform..
